It is one of the most populous, oldest, and strategically situated neighborhoods in the municipality, serving as the main transport axis connecting downtown Niterói to the Rio–Niterói Bridge, the neighboring municipalities of São Gonçalo and Maricá, and the Região dos Lagos coastal region.- Type: Suburb
