Los Volcanes National Park encompasses three large active volcanoes and contiguous natural reserves in central El Salvador. The central volcano, Cerro Verde is the most accessible and the park is often referred to unofficially as Parque Nacional Cerro Verde.

Izalco is a town and a municipality in the Sonsonate department of El Salvador. Volcan Izalco is an icon of the country of El Salvador, a very young volcano on the flank of Santa Ana volcano. Izalco is situated 9 km southwest of Izalco.
