Río Amazonas Airport is an airport serving Shell Mera, a town in the Pastaza Province of Ecuador. The airport was established in 1937 by Royal Dutch Shell and abandoned in 1948.

Mera is a town in the eastern foothills of the Ecuadorian Andes. It is also the name of the Canton in Pastaza Province of which it is a part. It lends its name to Shell Mera, a larger town 4 miles to the east. Mera is situated 7 km northwest of Shell.

Puyo, also known as El Puyo, is a city in the Amazon region of Ecuador. It is often overshadowed by the nearby tourist magnet of Baños, but serves as an excellent base for trips to community-based tourism projects and jungle excursions.
