Playas is a coastal city located in the , Ecuador. It is the seat of , created in 1989. As of the census of 2022, the city had a population of 48,156. is situated 4½ km southwest of Positos.

is a fishing village of some 3.000 people, which gives access, by boat, to the Olmos Estuary in the Manglares El Morro refuge. Some truly amazing mangroves and the biggest delta on the Pacific coast of South America.
