Gamboa is a town in the Colón province of Panama, known for its proximity to the Panama Canal and its surrounding tropical rainforest. It was built to house canal workers and is now a tourist destination focused on ecotourism and nature-based activities.

The Culebra Cut, formerly called Gaillard Cut, is an artificial valley that cuts through the Continental Divide in Panama. The cut forms part of the Panama Canal, linking Gatun Lake, and thereby the Atlantic Ocean, to the Gulf of Panama and hence the Pacific Ocean. Culebra Reach is situated 8 km southeast of Diversion Island.

Chilibre is a town and corregimiento in Panamá District, Panamá Province, Panama with a population of 53,955 as of 2010. Its population as of 1990 was 27,135; its population as of 2000 was 40,475. Chilibre is situated 8 km northeast of Diversion Island.
