Puerto Indio is a town in the Emberá indigenous territory of Panama. The town is on the Sabalo river, just upstream of the town of Sambú. Puerto Indio is situated 3 km northeast of El Salto.

Sambú is a corregimiento in Chepigana District, Darién Province, Panama with a population of 931 as of 2010. Its population as of 1990 was 762; its population as of 2000 was 747. Sambú is situated 3½ km north of El Salto.
