The Rinner Trough is an undersea trough in the named for Karl Rinner, an Austrian geodesist and founder of the journal Marine Geodesy. The name was proposed by Heinrich Hinze at the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research, Bremerhaven, Germany.
