It is located on the border between the municipalities of Merizo and Umatac, in the southern part of Guam, 22 km south of the capital Hagåtña. Mount Schroeder is situated 2 miles northwest of Magpogugae.

The Merizo Bell Tower, on Guam Highway 4 in Merizo, Guam, is a bell tower that was built in 1914 or 1919. It was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1975. Merizo Bell Tower is situated 2½ miles west of Magpogugae.
