The Birmingham Alabama Temple is the 98th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the first in Alabama. Located in the suburb of Gardendale, just north of Birmingham, the temple was announced on September 11, 1998, by the church's First Presidency.
