Part of the Executive Office of the President of the United States, it is in the West Wing of the White House, in Washington, D.C. The oval room has three large windows facing the South Lawn, in front of which the president's desk traditionally stands, and a fireplace at the north end. The Oval Office is situated 1,300 feet southwest of Ashburton House.
