Fort Mose

Fort Mose is a former Spanish fort in St. Augustine, Florida. In 1738, the governor of Spanish Florida, Manuel de Montiano, had the fort established as a free black settlement, the first to be legally sanctioned in what would become the territory of the United States. Fort Mose is situated 2½ miles south of Ximanies Creek.

Vilano Beach is an unincorporated community and census-designated place and in St. Johns County, Florida, United States. It was listed as the Villano Beach CDP by the U.S. Census Bureau from 1990 to 2010; however, the name was corrected to Vilano Beach for the 2020 census.
