Demorest is a city in Habersham County, Georgia, United States. The population was 2,022 at the 2020 census, up from 1,823 at the 2010 census, and 1,465 at the 2000 census. It is the home of Piedmont University. Demorest is situated 3½ miles south of Northeast Georgia Regional Library.
