Atchafalaya River
The Atchafalaya River is a 137-mile-long distributary of the Mississippi River and Red River in south central Louisiana in the United States. It flows south, just west of the Mississippi River, and is the fifth largest river in North America, by discharge.| Tap on a place to explore it |

Atchafalaya Basin is America's largest swamp, it covers much of the Acadiana region of Louisiana. It's more than a million acres in area, mostly wetland forests, and includes a number of recreational areas including boat launches and remote camping areas.
