It is located approximately 12 miles southwest of Rolla on a ridge between Tater Hollow to the east and the Gasconade River approximately one mile to the west in adjacent Pulaski County.

Built on a new alignment of US 66, nothing remains of the town except the Hooker Cemetery, in which many of the former residents and local families are buried. Hooker is situated 3½ miles southwest of Hickory Hollow.
