Rowan Oak was the home of author William Faulkner in Oxford, Mississippi. It is a primitive Greek Revival house originally built in 1844 for Robert B Sheegog, an Irish immigrant enslaver from Tennessee. Rowan Oak is situated 2½ miles north of Ridgeland.
