The Stone County Courthouse was constructed in 1917-18 and serves as the seat of county government for Stone County, Mississippi. The courthouse was designated a Mississippi Landmark in 1996. Stone County Courthouse is situated 760 feet north of Stone High School.

Stone County is a county in the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Wiggins is the largest and only incorporated city in the county. Aside from its close ties with the timber industry, its early 20th century past is littered with the accounts of lynchings and mob rule, though now people are generally caught up in the Pine Hill Festival in late April each year. Perkinston is situated 5 miles south of Stone High School.
