Bridal Veil Falls

Bridal Veil Falls is a 45-foot waterfall located in the Nantahala National Forest, northwest of Highlands, North Carolina. With a short curve of roadway located behind the falls, it had the distinction of being the only waterfall in the state that one could drive a vehicle under, however this has since been closed and is now used for pedestrian access only. Bridal Veil Falls is situated 2½ miles west of Shortoff Church.
Cowee Gap

Cowee Gap is a mountain pass located between Highlands and Cashiers in the far southern part of western North Carolina. It is located on the Eastern Continental Divide, which also forms the boundary between Macon and Jackson counties, and between the Cullasaja River and Chattooga River basins to the west and east, respectively. Cowee Gap is situated 2½ miles east of Shortoff Church.
