Spruce Pine is the largest town in Mitchell County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 2,194 at the 2020 census. It is one of the only places in the world where high-purity quartz can be found. Spruce Pine is situated 2½ miles east of WTOE-AM (Spruce Pine).
