As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 1,544, a decrease of 244 from the 2010 census count of 1,788, which in turn reflected an increase of 618 from the 1,170 counted in the 2000 census. Four Mile is situated 1½ miles northeast of Gum Spring.
