As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 1,544, a decrease of 244 from the 2010 census count of 1,788, which in turn reflected an increase of 618 from the 1,170 counted in the 2000 census. Four Mile is situated 3½ miles southwest of Mount Misery.

The site, located about 1.6 miles southwest of downtown Browns Mills, is located at the crossing of Junction Road and the Philadelphia and Long Branch Railway, later a part of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Browns Mills Junction is situated 4 miles northwest of Mount Misery.
