Wakita is a town in Grant County, Oklahoma, United States, approximately 8 miles south of the Kansas border. It was founded on September 16, 1893. Its population was 311 at the 2020 census, a decrease of 9.5 percent at the 2010 census. Wakita is situated 3½ miles southeast of Wakita Township.
