Tellico Plains is home to several communities that include Coker Creek, Belltown, Rafter, Mount Vernon, Rural Vale, and more. Tellico Plains is situated 1½ miles west of Tellico Beach.

Located in the Unicoi Mountains, this southeast Tennessee settlement is now considered by the Post Office to be part of greater Tellico Plains. Jalapa is situated 5 miles west of Tellico Beach.
