Oil City is a small town in Caddo Parish, Louisiana. The population was 1,008 at the time of the 2010 census. Oil City is located on Louisiana Highway 1, north of Caddo Lake. It is part of the Shreveport–Bossier City Metropolitan Statistical Area. Oil City is situated 4½ miles east of Potter Oil Field.
