The Eastern Shore region is Virginia's part of the Delmarva Peninsula, which is shared with Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore. It is a long narrow peninsula within the larger Delmarva Peninsula, extending south from the Maryland part, connected to the rest of Virginia only by a bridge at the south end.
