Southern Gateway is a census-designated place in Stafford County, Virginia. According to the 2010 Census, the population was 2,805. The "Southern Gateway" is defined by the county as the area adjacent to U.S. Route 17 between Interstate 95 and Berea Road to the west. Southern Gateway is situated 3½ miles northwest of Fredericksburg.
