Bonaparte is a city in Van Buren County, Iowa, United States. The population was 359 at the 2020 census. The town is located on the Des Moines River and contains a number of historical buildings, including a large pottery. Bonaparte is situated 3½ miles southeast of Bentonsport River-Side County Park.

Keosauqua is a city and the county seat of Van Buren County, Iowa, United States. The population was 936 at the time of the 2020 census. Keosauqua was settled by the Meskwaki and Sauk people until it became US territory in 1832 as Black Hawk Purchase and was "laid out" by European settlers in 1839. Keosauqua is situated 6 miles west of Bentonsport River-Side County Park.
