The community holds a yearly Morton Pumpkin Festival for four days every September, and claims that "99 percent of the world's canned pumpkin is produced in Morton," earning it the designation "Pumpkin Capital of the World". Morton is situated 3½ miles southwest of WTAZ-FM (Morton).
