Belchertown native John Francis Clapp, a wealthy merchant who died in , bequeathed $40,000 for the erection of a library with 5,000 books from his personal collections.

The is a historic house at 1 Stadler Street in Belchertown, Massachusetts. Originally located facing the , this 1880 Victorian, one of the most architecturally exuberant buildings in the town, was moved to its present location in 1976.
