It is managed by The Trustees of Reservations, a non-profit conservation organization, and is notable for its scenic views over the rural landscape of Tyringham Valley from rocky ledges and open fields.

Ashintully Gardens is a 120 acre McLennan Reservation, were the gift of John Stewart McLennan Jr, and his wife Katharine. The name Ashintully comes from Gaelic Eas an Tulaich and means "cascade of the hillock". Ashintully Gardens is situated 2 miles southeast of Tyringham Valley.
