As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 9,957, a decrease of 185 from the 2010 census count of 10,142, which in turn reflected a decline of 2,189 from the 12,331 counted in the 2000 census. Vanderburg is situated 1½ miles northeast of Cedar Drive Middle School.
