The Palisades are cliffs in New Jersey & New York. They rise on the western banks of the Hudson River. They range from 300 to 500 feet. There are parks, camp sites, look outs and hiking trails on the Palisades north of the George Washington Bridge.

Wave Hill currently consists of public horticultural gardens and a cultural center, all situated on the slopes overlooking the Hudson River, with expansive views across the river to the New Jersey Palisades. Wave Hill is situated 1½ miles southeast of Green Brook.
