Verona Mills is a hamlet in Oneida County, New York, United States. On April 26, 2011, a tornado with 100 mph winds associated with the 2011 Super Outbreak hit a wooded area near Verona Mills, near New York State Route 49, uprooting trees and snapping a power pole before replacing it. Verona Mills is situated 2½ miles north of Blackmans Corners.

Rome is one of two principal cities in the Utica–Rome Metropolitan Statistical Area, which lies in the "Leatherstocking Country" made famous by James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking Tales, set in frontier days before the American Revolutionary War.
