Chinle is a census-designated place in Apache County, Arizona, United States. The name in Navajo means 'flowing out' and is a reference to the location where the water flows out of the Canyon de Chelly. The population was 4,518 at the 2010 census. Chinle is situated 3½ miles south of Nazlini Wash.
