Parachute is a home rule municipality in Garfield County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,390 at the 2020 census. The town is the birthplace of Willard Libby, recipient of the 1960 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Parachute is situated 3½ miles northeast of Kelly Gulch.
