La Joya is a census-designated place in Socorro County, New Mexico, United States. The community is located on the east bank of the Rio Grande, 20 miles north of Socorro. La Joya is situated 1½ miles south of Palo Duro Canyon.

Bernardo is an unincorporated community in Socorro County, New Mexico, United States, at the northern junction of US 60 and Interstate 25. Bernardo was named, circa 1902, after a friend of John Becker, a leading merchant in nearby Belen. Bernardo is situated 3½ miles north of Palo Duro Canyon.
