Organ Needle is the highest point of the Organ Mountains in the south-central part of the U.S. state of New Mexico. It lies in Doña Ana County, 13 miles east-northeast of Las Cruces and 4 miles southwest of White Sands, headquarters of the White Sands Missile Range.

The range was originally established in 1941 as the Alamogordo Bombing and Gunnery Range, where the Trinity test site lay at the northern end of the Range, in Socorro County near the towns of Carrizozo and San Antonio. White Sands Missile Range is situated 6 miles east of Rabbit Ears.
