Kermit is a city in and the county seat of Winkler County, Texas, United States. The population was 6,267 at the 2020 census. The city was named after Kermit Roosevelt following a visit by his father, President Theodore Roosevelt, to the county. Kermit is situated 5 miles south of Perry Bass Camp.
