Primarily in extreme southeastern Pecos County, it also stretches under the Pecos River and partially into Crockett County. Iraan is a city in Pecos County, Texas, United States. Its population was 1,055 at the 2020 census. The city's name is a tribute to the town's founders, Ira and Ann Yates, who were owners of the ranch land upon which the town was built. Iraan is situated 3½ miles northeast of Yates Oil Field.
