The peak is in the Eagle Cap Wilderness, towering over Mirror Lake, with the Benson Glacier along the east flank of the summit ridge. Eagle Cap is situated 2 miles north of Dennis Creek.

Situated at an elevation generally above 8,500 feet on the northeastern slopes Glacier Peak, a subpeak of Eagle Cap, it is now a stagnant ice mass. Benson Glacier is situated 2 miles north of Dennis Creek.
