Mount Hood Meadows is a ski resort on the southeastern face of Mount Hood in northern Oregon, and is the largest of the mountain's ski resorts. It is located about 67 miles east of Portland, and 35 miles from Hood River along Oregon Route 35.

Barlow Pass is a 4,155-foot mountain pass in the Cascades in Oregon, on the Oregon Trail, and one of the major milestones of the Barlow Road. It is the crest of the Cascade Mountains: the dividing line between watersheds of the Deschutes River and those that flow into the Sandy River. Barlow Pass is situated 2½ miles southwest of Switchback Falls.
