The Stairs Station Hydroelectric Power Plant was built in 1894-1895 in Big Cottonwood Canyon, about 8 miles southeast of Salt Lake City, Utah. The plant comprises the powerhouse, switchyard, penstocks, and a pipeline.

In 2005, the CDP became part of the newly incorporated city of Cottonwood Heights. Little Cottonwood Creek Valley is situated 4½ miles southwest of Mount Olympus.
