Kachemak, locally known as Kachemak City, is a small second-class city in the southern portion of the Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska, United States. The Homer Spit is a geographical landmark located in Homer, Alaska, on the southern tip of the Kenai Peninsula. The spit is a 4.5-mile long piece of land jutting out into Kachemak Bay. Homer Spit is situated 4½ miles south of Kachemak City.
