Thessalon is a town in the Canadian province of Ontario, located at the junction of Highway 17 and Highway 129 on the north shore of Lake Huron. It is surrounded by, but not part of, the municipality of Huron Shores, and is part of Algoma District. Thessalon is situated 10 km east of Birch Island.

The town of Bruce Mines had a population of 582 residents in 2016. The current mayor of Bruce Mines is Lory Patteri. Bruce Mines is situated 10 km northwest of Birch Island.
