The town centre lies 11 kilometres east of Highway 11 on the banks of the Abitibi River, west of Lake Abitibi. Timmins, one of the largest cities in northern Ontario, is approximately 70 kilometres to the southwest. Iroquois Falls is situated 7 km west of Twin Falls.
