Springfield is a small town in the foothills of the Torlesse Range on the way to the Craigieburn ski fields and Arthur's Pass. It was an important source of coal for Christchurch and later became an important staging post to service the stage coaches travelling to the West Coast.

Sheffield is a small village located in the Selwyn District of the Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island, near the Waimakariri Gorge. Sheffield has a close association with its neighbouring village Waddington, which is 1 kilometre further south-east along State Highway 73. Sheffield is situated 8 km south of Eagle Hill.

Coopers Creek is a small rural community near Oxford in the Waimakariri District, New Zealand. It has only eight roads, and no shops. It has a number of mountains and walking tracks. In 1901, Coopers Creek had a population of 168. Coopers Creek is situated 8 km northeast of Eagle Hill.
