Burnham, also known as Burnham Camp, is the largest army base in New Zealand's South Island. It is located 28 kilometres south of Christchurch on the Canterbury Plains in the Selwyn District, close to the town of Dunsandel. Burnham Military Camp is situated 3½ km southwest of Waiuta.

Rolleston is the seat and largest town in the Selwyn District, in the Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island. It is located on the Canterbury Plains 22 kilometres south-west of Christchurch, and is part of the wider Christchurch metropolitan area. Rolleston is situated 5 km east of Waiuta.
