Locality
Purangi is a locality east of Inglewood, New Zealand, situated on the banks of the Waitara River. It is within the traditional tribal lands of Ngāti Maru iwi. Today, Ngāti Maru's headquarters are at Tarata. The Marae is called Te Upoko o te Whenua. Purangi is situated 4½ km northeast of Otuawhatu Stream.

Huiroa is a settlement in inland Taranaki, in the western North Island of New Zealand. It is located 20 kilometres east of Stratford and eight kilometres north of Douglas. It is situated on the Stratford–Okahukura Line and it is not far from State Highway 43. Huiroa is situated 8 km south of Otuawhatu Stream.
