Summit railway station was at the summit of the Wairarapa line over the Rimutaka Ranges in the Wellington region of New Zealand’s North Island and was where trains were marshalled for a descent down the Rimutaka Incline or for Fell locomotives to be extricated from a train that had ascended the Incline. Summit railway station is situated 4 km northwest of Lake Meadows.

It is at the eastern foothills of Remutaka Range close to the northern shore of Lake Wairarapa, 63 km north-east of central Wellington and 37 km south-west of Masterton. Featherston is situated 8 km northeast of Lake Meadows.
