Otukou is a rural community in the Taupō District and Waikato region of New Zealand's North Island. The main Otukou settlement is located on State Highway 46, on the south-eastern shore of Lake Rotoaira. Otukou is situated 5 km west of Motuopuhi Island.

Tongariro is a village and rural community, located east of Taumarunui and west of Kuratau on State Highway 41. It includes the Pāpākai Marae and Rākeipoho meeting house, a traditional tribal meeting place for the Ngāti Tūwharetoa hapū of Ngāti Hikairo. Tongariro is situated 6 km west of Motuopuhi Island.
