Situated on the eastern bank of the Tūranganui River, it contains several of the most historically significant sites in Tūranganui-a-Kiwa, including Titirangi, Puhi Kai Iti / Cook Landing Site, and much of the former Kaiti Block, one of the earliest Native Land Court title investigations undertaken in the district.
